Description
An assortment of vintage multi-section fishing rods, primarily configured for match and float angling styles. The collection includes a notable Abu Mark 5 All England 13-foot Zoom Match Tip rod, featuring original labels identifying it as ABU SVÄNGSTA and S SWEDEN WHERE QUALITY IS TRADITION, along with a Garantispö 641219 sticker. Also present is a maroon-coloured rod marked CRUSADER 12 ft Match Model No 2395-360 with a length of 3.6 metres. A blue rod is identified by the label MATCH12 with specifications including Length 12 3.60 and Action B-25. The remaining rods consist of amber-toned composite blanks equipped with cork grips and metal ferrules. The guides are a mix of traditional wire and ceramic-lined types consistent with mid-to-late 20th-century manufacturing.
Condition report:
The collection shows typical signs of age and field use. Visible wear is present on the cork handles, including some pitting and discolouration. Labels and transfers show varying degrees of lifting, scratching, and fading. The rod blanks exhibit surface scuffs and minor scratches to the varnish or epoxy finish. Metal ferrules and guides show some surface oxidation and tarnishing. The rods appear generally sound, though they would benefit from a light cleaning and inspection of the individual whippings.
