Lot 165:
Description
A collection of five vintage 1/12 scale Formula 1 plastic model kits manufactured by Tamiya, Japan, as part of the Big Scale Series. The group comprises several notable racing subjects including a Tyrrell P34 Six Wheeler (Series No. 19), a John Player Special J.P.S. Lotus 72D (Series No. 13), two examples of the Honda F-1 RA273 (Series No. 11), and a Team Lotus J.P.S. Mk.III Lotus 78 (Series No. 20). The kits are constructed from injection-moulded plastic parts on sprues and include semi-pneumatic rubber-like tyres. Designed for high fidelity, these vintage Tamiya releases often feature functional steering and suspension mechanisms. The Honda F-1 kits include a realistic driver figure and detailed fuel injection engine components. One Honda box retains a vintage retail price sticker of £35.00.
Honda F-1 model dimensions: Length 333mm, Width 143mm, Height 70mm.
Condition report:
The kits appear to be in unstarted and unassembled condition. The majority of components remain attached to their original plastic sprues, with many still contained within factory-sealed clear plastic bags. The original cardboard boxes are present for all five kits and exhibit various degrees of shelf wear consistent with age, including scuffing, light staining, and minor crushing to the edges and corners. As these are vintage open-box items, the presence of every individual small part cannot be guaranteed. Contents have not been checked for completeness.
