Description
A group of seven Scalextric (Hornby Hobbies) 1:32 scale electric slot racing cars, featuring plastic bodies with metal and rubber components. The models include a C.138 Saudia Leyland Williams FW07B in green and white livery (race number 27), a C.294 Pontiac in red Redcote livery (race number 17), a C.456 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth in white Firestone livery (race number 5), and two McLaren Mercedes MP4/10 models in red and white livery (race numbers 7 and 8). The lot also contains a silver AEG livery Mercedes-Benz C11 (race number 62) and a white and green Castrol livery Jaguar XJR-9 (race number 60). Boxes display various identifying end labels including C.138, C.294, C.456, C.585, C.2004, and C.382. Several boxes carry the Magnatraction branding and retail price stickers from vendors including Gamleys, with prices shown at 19.95 and 21.95 pounds sterling.
Condition report:
The cars are in good condition with minor surface scuffs. Internal electric mechanisms are untested. The original packaging shows significant signs of age, wear and storage, including damage, creasing, corner wear, and tears to the cardboard flaps. Several of the acetate display windows are damaged, loose, or missing. Two cars are housed in mismatched packaging: the Mercedes-Benz C11 is in a box labeled for a C.2004 McLaren F1, and the Jaguar XJR-9 is in a box labeled for a C.382 Jaguar XJ8.
