Description

A collection of framed artworks and mirrors featuring diverse subjects and styles. The assortment includes three historical-themed prints on paper titled Free Native Headdress (Circa 1780), Free Native Courtship (Circa 1780), and A Negro Festival (Circa 1780), each bearing a signature attributed to Thomas. These works depict figures in West Indian attire and are presented in silver-tone frames with maroon mounts. Also included are two modernist, stylized compositions on paper depicting a saxophonist and a guitarist, signed Azol in a stylized script. The collection further contains a high-contrast black and white portrait of a child crying, signed Serge; a colourful composition of female figures in robes; an impressionistic landscape featuring figures in a red field; and a panoramic landscape print of traditional East Asian architecture including bridges and pavilions. Two mirrors are present: one within a wide brushed silver-tone frame and the other in a slender, ornate gold-tone frame with foliate decoration. The items are housed in various contemporary frames, including gilt, silver-finish, and dark wood mouldings, several of which retain white cardboard corner protectors.
