Description
A Mid-Century Modern dining suite comprising a drop-leaf dining table and a matching pair of dining chairs, dating from the circa 1960s or 1970s. The table features a circular teak-veneered top with two drop-leaves supported by pull-out metal under-brackets, terminating in four fixed tapered legs. The accompanying pair of matching dining chairs features three-slat ladder backs, tapered front legs, and H-stretchers for structural support. The seats are upholstered in a neutral beige, brown, and grey plaid textile. There are no visible maker’s marks or stamps on either the table or the chairs.
Condition report:
The suite shows typical signs of age and use consistent with domestic wear. The woodwork on the table and chairs exhibits minor scuffs, light scratches, and finish wear, particularly to the legs and along the edges. The teak veneer top has minor superficial scratches and light surface wear. The upholstered seats are structurally sound with light wear and minor areas of discolouration or soiling.
