Lot 133:
Description
A 750ml bottle of Rumona Jamaica Rum Liqueur, produced and bottled by J. Wray and Nephew Ltd. in Kingston, Jamaica. This rum-based spirit, bottled at 31 percent ABV, is contained in a dark amber glass bottle. The front label features a pictorial scene of a figure in a sugarcane field, with the brand name Rumona prominently displayed in stylized red and gold lettering. The label also carries the founding date of 1825 for the producer. The reverse label provides a brief history of J. Wray and Nephew and describes the liqueur as being crafted from Caribbean sugarcane. It includes the producer’s address at 234 Spanish Town Road, Kingston 11, Jamaica, and a barcode. The bottle is sealed with a black screw-cap closure. Faint, indistinct characters are stamped on the glass of the neck above the shoulder. Based on the packaging and 750ml volume, this is an export bottling, likely dating from the late 20th century.
Condition report:
The liquid fill level is high, extending into the neck of the bottle. The front label shows some wear including scuffing to the edges and remnants of multiple price stickers at the base. The reverse label shows some surface loss and scuffing, particularly to the vertical text on the left side. The original black screw cap remains intact and in good condition.
