Lot 1:
Description
A vintage Franklin Mint Duchess of Windsor panther bangle bracelet, dated 1987. The piece is constructed with a matte black resin or Lucite hoop, featuring two leopard or panther head terminals in gold-plated metal. Each head is decorated with black enamel spots and set with small red stones for eyes. The heads are joined at the mouth by a central gold-tone ring in a knocker-style design. The bracelet is fitted with a hinged section and a gold-tone push-button box clasp, further secured by a secondary safety catch. The underside of one panther head is incised with the maker’s mark © FM 87. This design was part of a collection produced by Franklin Mint inspired by the jewellery of the Duchess of Windsor. The item is accompanied by a black velvet drawstring pouch marked Boutique by Lola Rose, which is not original to the piece.
Condition report:
The bracelet is in good vintage condition. The black enamel spotting and red eye stones remain intact and well-set. There is minor surface wear and light scratches to the gold-plated components and the matte black hoop, consistent with age and occasional use. The hinge and box clasp with safety catch are in good working order.
