Description
A substantial rectangular jewellery presentation box by Rolex, reference number 51.00.01, dating from the late 20th century. The exterior is finished in deep blue textured leatherette featuring a repeating debossed Rolex typographic motif and is fitted with a gold-tone textured metal lock to the front. The interior is fully lined in light blue suede and is configured with two levels of compartments, including a removable upper tray with dedicated ring slots and larger sections. A gold-tone rectangular plaque is mounted to the inside of the lid displaying a crown symbol above the word ROLEX. The base of the box features gold-leaf markings with two crown symbols flanking text reading ROLEX S.A – GENEVE SUISSE and the number 51.00.01 printed below. The box is accompanied by a small green grained leather pouch with white contrast stitching containing a gold-tone key, the bow of which is shaped as the Rolex crown logo. Included with the box is an assortment of costume jewellery rings comprising a ring set with a large pear-cut clear stone and small round-cut accents, a ring set with a large round-cut clear stone in a multi-prong setting, a cluster ring set with various round and pear-cut clear stones, and a flower-form ring set with multi-coloured faceted stones in yellow, purple, orange, and pink hues around a pavé-set central dome.
Condition report:
The box is in good condition. The exterior shows some minor rubbing to the corners and edges consistent with age and use. The internal suede lining is well-preserved and clean. The gold-tone hardware shows light surface scratches but remains bright. The lock and hinges are fully functional and the key is present. The accompanying rings show typical signs of light wear to the settings.
