Lot 119:
Description
A lot consisting of two items of contemporary pine furniture. The first piece is a tall and narrow storage pedestal or bedside unit featuring a minimalist, blocky design (W)34 (D)34 (H)78cm. It is constructed from solid pine panels showing prominent natural knots and grain. The piece is configured with a single open storage niche over a single drawer at the base, which is fitted with a central turned wooden pull knob. The second piece is a low, circular side table or occasional stool, dia. 50cm & height 29cm. The solid pine top has a rounded edge and is supported by three splayed, tapered legs. These legs are attached to the underside via metal mounting plates. No maker’s marks or inscriptions were identified on either item during inspection.
Condition report:
Both pieces show signs of use consistent with age and domestic function. The storage pedestal displays typical surface wear including minor scuffs and marks. The circular side table exhibits more pronounced wear, with several notable nicks and deeper scratches along the outer perimeter of the top.
