Description
A collection of UK commemorative and circulation coinage, primarily consisting of cupro-nickel 50 pence pieces and bimetallic two pound coins. The 50 pence issues include the 1998 NHS 50th Anniversary, 2005 Battle of Trafalgar, 2006 Victoria Cross, 2012 Olympic Cycling, the 2016-2017 Beatrix Potter series featuring Peter Rabbit, Tom Kitten, and Benjamin Bunny, 2019 Sherlock Holmes, 2020 Diversity Built Britain, and the 2020 Withdrawal from the European Union. The two pound coins comprise the 2007 Abolition of the Slave Trade, 2016 William Shakespeare Tragedies, 2016 Great Fire of London, and multiple First World War Centenary issues including the 2014 Lord Kitchener and 2015 Royal Navy designs. The collection also includes several round one pound coins with regional floral emblems. All coins are presented in clear plastic multi-pocket pages within a blue Change Checker branded binder.
Condition report:
The coins exhibit conditions ranging from circulated to brilliant uncirculated. Circulated specimens show varying degrees of surface marks, minor contact nicks, and loss of original mint lustre. Several examples appear to be in high-grade or uncirculated condition with full lustre. The binder and plastic storage sleeves show light wear consistent with handling but remain functional.
