Lot 46:
Description
This lot comprises a mixed collection of household and collectible items presented in two green plastic vented storage crates. The first crate contains a group of Dartington Glass commemorative tankards, primarily designed by Frank Thrower and handmade in Torrington, North Devon. Boxed examples include The Queen’s Silver Jubilee 1977 FT1, 1980 Dodo Tercentenary, 1986 900th Anniversary of the Domesday Book FT1, 1974 Caxton Anniversary, 1975 St. Paul’s Anniversary, 1985 300th Anniversary of the birth of J.S. Bach FT1, American Bicentenary 1776-1976 FT1, and the 1981 100th playing of the F.A. Cup Final. Several unboxed glass tankards are also included, featuring various etched commemorative designs.
Accompanying the lot is a Debenhams five-arm chandelier featuring a chrome-finished metal frame and a glass central column. The fixture is decorated with glass bobeches and faceted glass drops and swags. It is fitted with five flame-shaped bulbs and includes a ceiling mounting bracket.
The second crate contains an assortment of barbecue accessories, including multi-purpose tools with wooden handles combining a spatula, fork, and bottle opener, wire grill brushes with black plastic handles, and telescopic forks in original retail packaging. The items are housed in two green Orbis-style vented plastic stacking crates.
Condition report:
The commemorative tankards appear to be in good condition. Their original cardboard boxes exhibit varying degrees of age-related shelf wear, scuffing, and minor tearing. The chandelier is missing one glass light bulb surround. The barbecue accessories appear to be unused retail stock, with many retaining original tags, plastic ties, or cardboard backing. The plastic storage crates are in used, functional condition.
