Description
A collection of vinyl records comprising 12 inch LPs, 12 inch singles, and 7 inch singles, primarily spanning the late 1970s to the mid-2000s. The lot features a significant selection of Reggae, Dub, Hip-Hop, Jungle, and Electronic genres.
Notable titles and artists within the collection include the Jungle Splash: Jungle Takes You Into Junglism Volume 1 compilation, Sizzla Speak of Jah on the Bogalusa label (2004), Aesop Rock Labor Days (Definitive Jux), Amon Tobin Foley Room (Ninja Tune), Dilated Peoples Neighborhood Watch (ABB Records), Blockhead Music by Cavelight (Ninja Tune), and Blufoot The Ablution (Scenario Records).
Reggae and Dub highlights include Bunny Wailer Collie Man on Solomonic (1981), Max Romeo Pocomania Songs (Ariwa), Cornell Campbell My Destination (Kingston Sounds), and a promotion copy of Aswad Dub Style on CBS (1981). The collection also contains various 12 inch singles such as Roni Size and DJ Die It’s a Jazz Thing (Utah Jazz Remix) on V Records, Jon Cutler featuring E-Man It’s Yours on Chez Music, and various Trouble on Vinyl and Peckings releases.
Further contents include 7 inch singles by Richie Spice, Jah Warrior, and various 1980s pop/soul such as Kool and the Gang Joanna. The paper sleeve for the Aswad promotional single features a handwritten note Bunny and the Banshees and two blue ink signatures, one of which appears to be Bunny Wailer. Please note these signatures are unauthenticated and no certificates of authenticity are present. Labels present include Ninja Tune, Solomonic, Ariwa, Bogalusa, ABB Records, V Records, and Peckings.
Condition report:
The collection is in a used as-found condition. Sleeves exhibit varying degrees of wear including ring wear, creasing, edge fraying, and surface staining. Several covers retain old retail price stickers. The vinyl records show surface marks, dust, and signs of handling consistent with age and use. The records have not been play-tested for audio quality, skips, or warping.
