Lot 111:
Description
A large rectangular wall mirror featuring a bevelled glass plate. The substantial frame is constructed from wood and gesso with a multi-stepped moulding. It is finished with traditional water-gilding, showing an aged patina with the red bole ground visible beneath the gold in several areas, particularly along the outer edges and high points of the moulding. The mirror glass contains surface scratches.

Condition report:
The frame shows typical signs of age and wear including a vertical crack in the gesso finish on the left-hand side and minor chipping and loss of finish at the corners. The gilding is rubbed and distressed throughout. The mirror plate has visible surface scratches.
