Description
A 20th century reproduction sideboard designed in the traditional Georgian taste, featuring burr yew wood veneers and crossbanded decorative borders. The upper section is fitted with three drawers: a central wide drawer and two smaller flanking drawers, all featuring brass-toned swan-neck drop handles on decorative backplates. The lower section consists of four cupboard doors with inset decorative burr panels and shaped corners. The central pair of doors opens to a double-width compartment with a single shelf, while the outer doors open to individual compartments with shelves. The piece is built on a plinth base with a scalloped apron and is fitted with exposed brass butt hinges and keyhole escutcheons. A single skeleton key is included.
Condition report:
The sideboard exhibits signs of use and age. There are visible scratches on the panels of the cupboard doors. The top surface shows small marks, pitting, and light scratches. Minor scuffs and wear are present on the scalloped apron and plinth base. The interior appears structurally sound and clean.
