Description
A professional Connolly double-handled briefcase or document bag crafted from dark brown grained leather. The bag features a structured rectangular silhouette with twin top handles secured by distinctive triangular stitched tabs. It is designed with a full-length top zipper closure and includes a large exterior slip pocket on one face. The interior is lined in a cream-coloured textile and is divided into compartments, featuring a large leather-trimmed slip pocket on one wall and a zippered security pocket on the opposing side. The interior pocket is finished with a matching leather zipper pull. The interior leather slip pocket displays a silver foil stamp consisting of a square logo with stylized interlocking scrollwork, followed by the text CONNOLLY and the identifiers ENG and 1878 within separate rectangular boxes. This mark identifies the piece as the work of the English leather manufacturer Connolly, established in 1878.
Condition report:
The briefcase is in good pre-owned condition. There are minor surface scuffs and light creasing to the exterior leather consistent with use. The interior textile lining shows minor signs of wear but remains clean throughout. The hardware is functional and the stitching is intact.
